Lithuanian Consumer Confidence Improves In July

Lithuanian consumer confidence improved in July from the previous month.

The consumer confidence index increased to minus 30 in July from minus 35 in the previous month, the Statistics Lithuania said on Thursday. The increase was mainly due to more optimistic forecasts for the nation's economic situation. A year earlier, the confidence indicator was minus 43.

The index for household financial situation over the next 12 months increased to minus 15 in July from minus 19 in June. Similarly, consumers' assessment on nation's economic situation in the next twelve months rose to minus 15 from minus 28 in June. A year ago, the index was minus 33.

The index measuring the number of unemployed in the country over the next twelve months logged 46 in July, unchanged from June. At the same time, consumers' opinion about the possible savings over the next twelve months rose to minus 44 from minus 49 in June.
